I teach Health and Physical Education at Penn Middle School. We are located in Western PA, about 20 miles east of Pittsburgh. This is my second year here. I began teaching at a private Catholic High School after graduating from Slippery Rock University. I got married after my first year of teaching and will be married 18 years in June. I left teaching after my second child was born, and when she entered Kindergarten, I returned part time to a Pre K - 8th grade Catholic School. I updated my certification and applied to Penn Trafford. I was lucky enough to not only get the job, but at the school 1 mile from my house. My son however is not so happy, this is where he is. He will be moving to the High School in the fall and my daughter will be moving to me at the Middle School. They keep me very busy, Nick is on a competitive rifle team and the school track team. McKenna is a swimmer for the in house aqua club and the USA division of swimming. I am also the Student Council Sponsor for the school and coach for Girls on the Run / Girls on Track two days/week after school. GOTR We are busy.
This is my last course going toward my permanent certification. I hope to learn new methods of technology to teach my students. I want to plan the lessons and allow my students to discover, analyze and synthesize / apply the knowledge.
Few Facts about myself:
Fact 1: Last year I created a web page through our district! Mrs. Y
Fact 2: If it I didn't have kids, I probably wouldn't have friends!!! (lol)
Fact 3: According to the swim teams my kids are on, I make the best popcorn.
Fact 4: My dream home is on the beach. Which one, I don't know, & I can't afford it anyhow!
Fact 5: I have three grandparents still with us. Pap Jay will be 93 in April, Grandma just turned 89 and Pappy is 96.5!
My favorite game(s): Playing the card game 500, & watching the Pittsburgh Steelers with my family.
Denise, You must reveal your secret popcorn popping skills and/or ingredients. I want some! I need a healthy snack to indulge in while working online. :) I'm with you on the Beach dream home. I'll take a waterfront property in the North Miami Beach area since we are wishing. You are VERY blessed to have 3 grandparents still with you and your family. :) Eboni
